On April 1-2, 42,000 Geeks across the country to be participating in the world’s biggest Digital Product Development competition(Hackathon 2017). It would be a non-stop 36 hour session . HRD minister Prakash Javadekar told the media that the “Smart India Hackathon 2017” which has emerged as the biggest hackathon in the world “will create world’s biggest open innovation model.”
The AICTE (All India Council For Technical Education) launched this event in order to engage youth mind to find innovative and optimum solutions.
HRD Minister also added that the selected products will be funded for further research and development.
Twenty Nine department under the ministries reported 598 problems for which they don,t have digital solutions due to which they face revenue loss inefficiency and corruption.
Out of the 42,000 participants who worked on the problems for 2 months, 10,000 students have been shortlisted for Grand Finale.
Grand Finale will be hosted across 26 locations for 1,266 teams. First 12 hours students would code (a Program) for solution which will be evaluated. Selected solutions will be forwarded for product development in the next 24 hours.
